An exciting opportunity to join the Special Buy’s team has become available within the National Buying department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
What does the role look like?
- Develop and maintain processes and automated tools to support ongoing optimisation of the Special Buy’s program
- Use SQL to build and maintain Special Buy’s program reporting and dashboards
- Utilise data visualisation tools to communicate complex insights
- Perform fact based, data driven analysis and modelling on significant amounts of data for the purpose of turning it into actionable information required to drive key business decisions
- Identify improvement opportunities and provide data insights and recommendations to improve business efficiency
- Ensure the delivery and maintenance of end-to-end solutions
- Develop an expert understanding of business systems
- Identify and recommend new ways to streamlining business processes
- Providing any other support as required by the Executive Manager to support the broader Buying Department

What do we need from you?
- Ideally 2+ years of experience in a reporting, analytics, or other quantitative / data-driven role
- Fundamental knowledge of database systems and data modelling
- Proven experience in organising, manipulating, and analysing large and complex data sets
- Strong competency in SQL
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated commercial experience and knowledge in data visualisation tools (such as Tableau or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and strong focus on data quality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical ideas to relevant business stakeholders
This role reports to the Executive Manager – Specials Buys.
