Corporate Governance Junior Lawyer - CoSec & Registry

We are looking to engage an energetic junior corporate lawyer or corporate governance professional on a 12-month maximum term contract, to join our Company Secretarial (CoSec) & Registry team to cover a team member on parental leave.
The CoSec & Registry team is a part of Macquarie’s central Legal and Governance Group, working on corporate governance and related legal and regulatory matters.
As part of Macquarie’s central Legal and Governance Group, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and work with teams across Macquarie.
Your responsibilities will include managing the review and maintenance of Board related governance policies, procedures and guidelines; coordinating and responding to due diligence questionnaires and requests for information relating to corporate governance matters; assisting with company secretarial activities including supporting the MGL and MBL Boards and Board Committees; supporting the MBL Board with Banking and Executive Accountability Regime-related activities and conducting legal and corporate governance research. You will also review and advise on statutory, legal and regulatory requirements relating to corporate governance and assist with legal and regulatory compliance, with senior oversight.
To be successful you will be a qualified lawyer or chartered secretary/chartered governance professional and have 2-3 years’ post qualified legal or corporate governance advisory experience. You will have the ability to work within a team meeting various deadlines, have a flexible approach to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent drafting and communication skills, be detail focused and have the ability to work collaboratively to implement agreed changes.
