What will your typical day look like?
With responsibility for the delivery of legal services to a diverse range of internal stakeholders across Deloitte, there will be no typical day! You may start the day running corporate legal due diligence, advising stakeholders on the firm’s rights under a shareholders’ agreement for one of its venture investments and end the day negotiating definitive documentation for a corporate transaction.
In a corporate focused role, you will work closely with the firm’s internal corporate development team on the execution and integration of transaction targets to Deloitte, whilst also providing strategic advice on internal matters to the broader firm.
About the team
The Office of General Counsel is a high performing and respected team that provides legal advice to Deloitte Australia. If you’re looking for a team that’s driven, supportive and will nurture your legal career – Deloitte is the place for you.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone with:
3 to 4 years’ experience as a corporate/M&A lawyer either in a private practice or in-house role.
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital corporate structure changes, company secretarial work, and other corporate matters.
Ability to work both as part of a team as well as independently where required.
Ability to draft and review a range of documentation and correspondence, including drafting legal advice, preparing due diligence reports, corporate secretarial documentation, and commercial contracts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle a high-volume of matters, across all areas of the firm.
The ability to adapt to a growing business at an exciting time where service offerings are being regularly reviewed to meet changing needs.
Experience working effectively as part of an energetic, collaborative team.
The ability to “think outside the box” to present alternatives and solutions.
