An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive medical sales professional with ambition and high energy to join our Diabetes Teamas a Territory Specialist.

This role is responsible for the promotion of our life changing technology to Health Care Professionals in Newcastle, Hunter New England and Northern NSW.

Abbott’s life changing glucose monitoring technology is rapidly changing the management of insulin using patients living with diabetes within Australia. The successful candidate will be accountable to exceed sales targets by executing the business strategy, proactively meeting the dynamic needs of the marketplace and by building superior partnerships with HCP’s that bring value to our customers and enhance patient lives.

Your responsibilities include (and not limited to):

  • Maintaining a high level of competence in FreeStyle Libre (and its digital products platform) competitor products disease states and industry compliance
  • Demonstrating proficiency in tools of the trade, processes and policies
  • Developing sales action plans in line with the marketing strategy and evaluate and track the implementation of these on an ongoing basis
  • Planning, executing and analysing sales calls to create call-continuity with customers
  • Promoting value-add services that improve the quality of care available to patients and creating solutions to meet customer needs
  • Diagnosing and tracking key customer and competitor performance regularly
  • Collaborating with the broader Abbott team to identify new opportunities

Who we’re looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in a Science discipline is essential
  • Relevant industry experience (both Primary Care and Hospital) in medical devices, however, strong customer facing experience as a pharmacist will be highly regarded
  • Proven track record in delivering sales targets with demonstrated proficiency with selling skills in a sales framework is advantageous
  • Business acumen and analytical skills
  • Customer-centric mindset, active listening, genuine empathy and a strong desire to resolve issues; deliver a high level of customer focussed service to internal and external customers
  • Concisely and clearly communicate with the ability to articulate technical/clinical information
  • Initiative and proactivity to develop account strategies and challenge the status quo whilst identifying new business opportunity

Due to the inherent requirements of the role, the preferred candidate must provide evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination before the commencement date and maintain a fully vaccinated status for the period of employment.
